Overview

The Business Management Information Technology Internship is designed to provide a well rounded exposure to IT functions, processes, business operations, etc. while fulfilling work assignments in a support capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Commitment to integrity, knowledge / quality of work in a fast paced start up atmosphere.

The intern will help support the financial goals of the company and be exposed to several growth initiatives.

This is a role where motivation, cooperation and relationship building is key.

Positive oral / written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability / dependability flexibility and ownership / accountability of actions taken are all components of the internship.

Under supervisory guidance, the intern will be exposed to several business verticals to include:

Human resource outsourcing, recruitment, interview processes, onboarding processes, off boarding

Contract review and preparation

Business Networking processes

Application software installations and upgrades.

IT validations, quote creations, and environment analysis.

Web page development, Web content management, Web services development and database design / development.

Business Development

The intern will :

plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a relevant college degree program at the time the internship will be served – either at the graduate or upper undergraduate level.

Enrollment in a a BUSINESS SCHOOL — with a Business Admin, Information Technology or MIS degree program. — We are looking for IT people in business — not programmers or CS folks.

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Basic knowledge of software applications configuration, development and installation

Basic knowledge of mobile applications development frameworks

Basic knowledge of Web and database design / development

Basic technical skills and aptitude with ability to provide end-user support

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Ability to employ a customer service approach and to present technical information with clarity to non-technical users

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Ability to be dependable and to meet schedules / timelines

Ability to prioritize projects and services for minimum user interruption and downtime

Well organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Financial background helpful.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
